MapMates is a simple idea: help people meet nearby when they are new in a city.
The Problem
Moving to a new city is exciting, but it can also be lonely. Whether you just arrived, moved abroad, work remotely, travel slowly, or want to practice a language, making genuine connections takes time and effort. Social media is overwhelming. Dating apps aren't the answer. And randomly approaching strangers at cafes is... awkward.
Our Solution
MapMates is an interactive map where you can see who's around you and open to meeting. No endless scrolling. No algorithms deciding who you should talk to. Just real people on a map, with the option to say "hey, want to grab a coffee?"
